2023

For our LEVEL 1 ACTION we decided to do a thrift drive sale at The Hewitt School. We teamed up with the high-schoolers to work on this project. we met up with them almost every sustainability meeting. we talked about the climate action project and learnt lots of important information some of this included, establishing a zero carbon footprint when it comes to our school’s fashion footprint:
Thrift sale → recycles items, reduces consumption
Uniforms → long term, new sources
Merchandise → introducing new uniform items

We also learnt a lot about the impact of fast fashion and here are some notes we took. Reusing and recycling rather than throwing away and buying new items.
When buying new items, they are made equitably and sustainably. Knowing where your clothes come from. Spreading awareness. Taking action.

On The day of service this was when the thrift sale was open. the day of the sale we organized all the items by its size, and what kind of item it was. All of the items were sold at a price of $5 and the money we received was going to either a hewitt club or donation. We sold a lot of items this day and bought some for ourselves too!
